Pokémon Heart Gold and Soul Silver are the remakes of Pokemon Gold and Silver, and are part of the 4th generation Pokémon games for the Nintendo DS.

Major Changes
* All Pokemon can now follow you outside of their Pokeballs.
* A new female character named Soul.
* Kyogre can be caught in Heart Gold and Groudon in Soul Silver. Rayquaza can be caught in both games. All three are at Level 50.
*An event involving Cynthia and Arceus, which allows you to catch Palkia, Dialga, and Giratina at Level 1. Each of the three Pokemon learns a new move - Palkia gets Hydro Pump, Dialga gets Metal Burst, and Giratina gets Shadow Sneak.
*Mewtwo, Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Latios, and Latias are also available in the game.
*A new Battle Frontier and Safari Zone for the Johto region.
*The PalPark replaces the Safari Zone in Kanto
*The Pokethlon, which features several mini-games based on athletic events such as hurdles and sumo wrestling. Winning events earn you medals.
*The PokeWalker, an accesory which comes with the game. Players can transfer a Pokemon into the device and it will gain experience and happiness as you physically walk.
*Some Pokemon have new level-up and egg moves.
*Some Gyms have new puzzles.
*14 new move tutors.
