Pokémon Black and White are the first games of the 5th generation of Pokémon for the Nintendo DS.

Major Changes
* New region called Isshu.
* More advanced 3D graphics.
* The battle screen now shows the back sprite's entire body.
* Sprites have fluid animations during the entire battle, as well as shadows.
* Main trainer characters are older than trainers from previous generations.
* The ability to battle with random opponents without a Friend Code.
* The first female Pokemon Professor, called Professor Araragi
* Three vs. Three battles.
* A new Team called Team Plasma.
* TMs are now reuseable.
* Some old abilities/moves have new effects.
* Seasons in the game, which change every month and affect where Pokemon appear, as well as accessibility to some areas of the game.
