Strategy:
Venusaur is a defensive Pokémon, so give it defensive moves.
Start off with Sleep Powder to make your opponent doze off, then
sap its health with Leech Seed while you sleep. If you got hit pretty
hard while setting up, use Synthesis when you have the chance in
order to keep yourself alive. Grass types are immune to Leech Seed,
so use Sludge Bomb to damage them.
With a Careful Nature, Max HP EVs, and enough Special Defense EVs
to boost your Special Defense to around 300 total, Venusaur can
easily survive a Flamethrower or Ice Beam. Although keeping it in
against Fire and Ice types is a bad idea, it helps against other
opponents who may know such moves (like Starmie or Ludicolo).
