Pokémon Platinum is the third game in the 4th generation Pokémon games for the Nintendo DS.

Major Changes
*Giratina and Shaymin have new forms. Shaymin uses an item to change into its new form and changes its ability to Serene Grace.
*A new area called "Torn World" appears over Spear Pillar. Origin Giratina can be found in it.
*New Battle Frontier similar to the one in Emerald.
*Male and female main characters have new outfits.
*New characters - a Police Officer and a Team Galactic Professor.
*Gym leaders are animated and some gyms have been revamped. Some Gym Leaders and Elite 4 have new Pokemon. Gym Leaders can also be rebattled in the form of 2 vs. 2 matches.
*Pokemon have new sprites. Back sprites have an extra frame in their animation.
*GTS and Wi-Fi centers have upgrades and new additions, including the ability to record battles.
*Rotom has 5 new forms, all based on electrical appliances.
*New move tutors.
*Expanded Sinnoh Dex. 59 new Pokemon have been added
*Regice, Regirock, Registeel, Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres can all be caught in-game. Dialga and Palkia can both be caught in Platinum.
*Some cities and buildings have been remodeled.
*Some Pokemon gain new level-up moves
*Players recieve a house when they reach the Resort Area, which can be furnished like a Secret Base.
